| 07.25.14 | Another season, another Stephen King book. This one was pretty good. There was a moment about halfway through where ghosts are mentioned and I had a thought of "wait a minute, this is a Stephen King book... there COULD be ghosts in this world!" but there weren't. I think part of the reason for setting it in some unnamed Midwest great lakes type area rather than Stephen King's Maine is because there are no supernatural elements here. The character of Brady doesn't belong with Randall Flagg and the Crimson King. He's a real life monster. As always a great read, but also not blown away by it. It might make a great movie though since it's more or less a straight forward thriller. |
