07.10.20 Another D&D book, sort of like 5E's Player's Handbook part 2. Half the book is for players, half is for DMs. I read this because I bought digital versions of it for playing online and didn't want to have to tell my players they couldn't use it. As it turns out, there's lots of good stuff in here (most of which I'm sure I'll forget). In particular I like the lists of names and monsters by terrain type in the appendices. I'm not sure how much the player half will prove to be useful but I found it comforting to finally read and know. I still don't know if I want to read through the monsters books (there are three of them) but I found this worthwhile. I'll probably switch over to a few novels then come back to either another older lore book or maybe an adventure book once I feel the balance has been struck. For now, I'm looking forward to a little narrative and getting through more than a page and a half every night. This was good though.
