09.08.20 | I really liked World War Z, I like the topic of Sasquatch, therefore I thought I should read this. It's pretty good. I wasn't a fan of the first act or so but recognize that's how these sorts of stories have to start in order for them to wind up where they do. Eventually it turned into a real page-turner that I couldn't put down. I also appreciate how he goes to some lengths to say that Bigfeet, at least his version of Bigfeet, do not naturally prey on humans right now. It takes a massive shift in their ecosystem and just the right situation to get them to that place. And it's a particularly notable point he makes about Mountain Lions in Boulder and our civilized notion of nature's perfection and serenity. Pretty good. Not as good as World War Z, but pretty good. |
