10.14.21 | I listened to this on audiobook, initially interested because I continue to feel like I'm a Dave Grohl fan in everything he does except Foo Fighters music. I enjoy watching clips of him on Late Night talk shows and podcast interviews and whatnot so I figured his book would be a deeper dive on that, which is pretty much right. There's a loose narrative of his life and musical career interspersed with specific anecdotes, mostly involving either famous friends or notable calamities. And listening vs. reading made it sound like a very long, one-sided podcast interview albeit in that somewhat stilted reading-out-loud rhythm. Not a bad memoir I guess... but I do think I've managed to grok 90% of the info given by spending a few hours on youtube watching various clips throughout the years. |
