| 09.30.07 | Terry McCaleb investigated Harry Bosch and Jack McEvoy is also there. This is kind of like a mother tie-in episode between Connelly's non-bosch books (not that I've read Void Moon). I figured it would be good to read this right after Blood Work. I think it's one of the weaker plots I've read in his books. It makes no sense that any killer would leave subtle clues to the painter sharing his name. So for like 60% of this book I was just whatever. I also think it doesn't work becasue we already know Harry Bosch and know he is not a killer. Sure he's on the edge and dark like every mystery protagonist but... not a killer and we know that. However, I do think this would make a great movie. Clint Eastwood reprising Terry McCaleb and introducing the character of Harry Bosch to movie audiences who DON'T know him. They'd still have to fix the plot points a bit but from that perspective I think the movie could really work. Too bad that's not happening. |
